Itihasikala was born to serve a unique version of almost extinct handcraft while ensuring women empowerment by providing financial independence and stability to them. Our Product ranges include Crochet Bags (Tote Bags, Hand Purses, Backpacks, Different sized Everyday bags, beach bags, potli bags etc.), Toys, Mufflers, Rugs, Scarfs, Boxes, Coasters, Cushion Covers, table covers. They are all 100% handcrafted from ecologically safe and sustainably sourced raw materials such as Jute, Cotton, Wool, textile wastes, etc. Major part of the revenue Itihasikala earns is used to support my ancestral NGO- Khemka Charitable Trust(KCT) which provides employment and empowerment to women in need. KCT also provides free education to more than 250 students at a time, studying every day in the KCT premises. Itihasikala trains, teaches and polishes the women at KCT to make bags, mufflers, coasters, cushion covers out of safe and sustainable raw material such as jute, cotton, paper and textile waste using various hand-knitting and crochet techniques. More than 200 women have become a part of our organization since its inception in September 2019. They are now independent using their skills of hand-knitting, crochet, macramé and other handcrafts.
